| Finding Inner Peace |
|
Finding inner peace is an elusive quest. We struggle onward in our everyday lives embattled with stress, work, relationship issues and negativity, making the goal of inner peace seemingly unattainable. In the book "Travel Within: The 7 Steps to Wisdom & Inner Peace," authors Jamshid Hosseini and Dave Cunningham put forth the argument that inner peace can be achieved through a series of seven steps. The novel is based on Jamshid Hosseini's own experience finding inner peace after surviving harrowing near death experiences, religious oppression, war and homelessness. The book's synopsis states that "Jamshid Hosseini has been rich and poor, Persian and American, Hindu and Buddhist, alive and dead"; it is through these trials and tribulations that Hosseini unwittingly discovers the path to finding inner peace. Along with journalist and author Dave Cunningham, Hosseini uses his own experience to extrapolate a universal method for achieving one's own inner peace through a seven step process. Finding inner peace is not a process that begins with looking for happiness in the world around you; inner peace is achieved by expanding the depths of our human consciousness to awaken a spirituality within and connectedness to the universe. For nonbelievers, Hosseini's path to finding inner peace is not just a method he invented on his own; it is based on spiritual religions, philosophy and science throughout the centuries, especially the newer field of quantum physics. We are only beginning to understand the bountiful mysteries and quantum possibilities of the human mind, but one thing is for sure - our consciousness is the key to unlocking our own inner peace and happiness. |
